Nowadays, the telecommunications industry has entered the era of full-serviceoperation. The market competition is gaining stronger and stronger. Faced with thegrowing demand of users on the network bandwidth, all the Telecom operators had builttheir own Customer Premises Network access network. Gigabyte Passive OpticalNetwork, as the direction of future development of the access network, is the mostimportant one of the access network. How to manage this new network’s resourcesefficiently, and give full play to the network edge, in order to improve thecompetitiveness of enterprises, is a major issue facing the operators.This thesis, which is based on China Mobile GPON device specifications and theGPON network construction of China Mobile Shantou Branch, does a research andmake a design about the network resources of Shantou’s GPON network profoundly. Inthe current, we lack the means of network support, we manage resource manually andlow efficiently, we haven’t built up the association of the equipment andbusiness.Facing these problems, the thesis provides a solution with these problems. Thecontents of the studies of the thesis are as following:Firstly, this thesis starts from the architecture of GPON, analyzes the workingprinciple and network structure, and determines the management method of ShantouGPON’s device resources.Secondly, according to the technical feature, the thesis analyzes the business typewhich the GPON network can bear, and build a management model of customerbusiness resources.Finally, by using the software development tools, this thesis implements a resourceauxiliary support system of GPON, which uses Client/Server structure. This systemincluding building management module, device management module, businessmanagement module and System operation management module. Provide auxiliarysupport for the GPON network resources and GPON carrying business resources. Thesystem can automatically manage resources; it takes the place of manual operation andis easy for maintenance workers to master the usage situation of resources quickly and accurately.This system has been put into practical working application since it made. Itsindicators all qualified requirements and provide huge effect for management ofnetwork resource.
