In the process of cutting, measuring the cutting force and torque is conducive notonly to study the cutting mechanism, computing power consumption, the optimizationof cutting parameters and tool geometry, but also to reflect tool wear or breakage, thefault of machine tool, cutting chatter state through passing the change of cutting force incutting process to monitor, so as to control the cutting process, the quality assuranceprocess, improve the production efficiency. In this paper, the cutting force measuringsystem sensor is mainly for rotary dynamic cutting process of cutting force and torquemeasurement.The rotary dynamic cutting force measuring system includes three parts in thispaper. First of all, according to the cutting force features and the piezoelectric effect ofquartz, the cutting force measuring system sensor is designed to realize the force andhorizontal torque measurement of three directions orthogonal in the cutting process.Secondly, the standard handle sensor vector suitable for rotating dynamic cutting forceis designed. The sensor carrier structure parameters are optimized using ANSYSsoftware, choosing the sensor in optimal working state parameters. Finally, the problemof how to transmit sensor to collect the cutting force signal is solved. It is inconvenientto use wired transmission mode because of the need in the machining state of real-timecollection and transmission of signals of cutting force, and thus to choose the wirelesstransmission to achieve our requirements. The electromagnetic wave transmitting andreceiving method of cutting force signal transmission scheme is used in this subject.Compared to the original type cutting dynamometer, the prominent features of thecutting force measuring system sensors are: its shape closes to a standard tool holderand the same actual state. So, It can display the change of cutting force in cuttingprocess of cutting tool installation; Mutual interchangeability is better, different modelsof the tool can be installed in the same knife handle; simple structure, convenientadjustment, low cost; It is not only suitable for laboratory, but also will be applied toactual production testing and real-time monitoring.
