HINOC(High performance Network Over Coax)is a type of broadband accesssolutions which can make use of the coaxial cable of Community Antenna TV (CATV)to realize high_performance bidirectional information transmission and satisfy thedemands of facing the NGB (Next-Generation Broadcast) cable technology.Completely based on the coaxial cable network of CATV, the technology use thecoaxial cable channel band above860MHz and provide high-speed and high-qualityaccess for multi-services including IPTV, SDTV/HDTV, high-speed Internet access,,HD/SD, broadcast and other broadband business applications, only by adding somecorrelative local and terminal devices such as HINOC Bridge (HB) and HINOCModem (HM).With the state863planning project undertaken in our laboratory–“Research andChip Design of a New Generation Broadband Access Technology Over Coax”, basedon the HIMAC system development board, the paper introduces the overallimplementation scheme of HIMAC co_processor (co_processor adapt to HINOCnetwork MAC layer on HIMAC)and focuses on the design and realization of theaddress transformation table.Firstly, the background and significance of the research on HINOC networkwere analyzed in the paper, and its related equipment,constructed network ways andtopological structure were also introduced. Secondly, based on the analysis of theprotocol of HINOC network MAC layer, the structure and overall scheme of HIMACco_processor were proposed. The paper was concentrated on the principles andmethods of the unicast transformation table which bases on VLAN technology andthe multicast technology which bases on IGMP Snooping—the second layer multicasttechnology. Then, the FPGA design of both the address tables are completed, and theVerilog HDL codes are also finished. Finally, the timing simulation of the design wascarried out by the ModelSim SE, and the results of the simulation prove thecorrectness of the design.
