In the production process of crude oil, the crude oil exploited from the oil well has certain moisture content, because the specific gravity of oil and water is different, the water in the crude oil will subside the base of the oil tank, while oil will float on the surface of the oil tank, thus the interface of oil and water is formed. In order to measure and control the process of oil/water separation, the exact on-line measurement of oil/water interface should be researched. Because of the complexity of oil-water interface in the oilcan, it is difficult to achieve the ideal examination precision while adopting the traditional sensor, which this disquisition is precisely in view of, the author has made the bold improvement in the sensor design, and designed the system of oil-water interface detection, based on the sectional type capacitance sensor.The paper discusses the examination principles of oil-water interface and its systemic structure in detail, and both the hardware and software design for the whole system. The section of hardware design mainly includes the examination circuit of small capacitance, the data collecting and processing circuit based on C8051F005, the serial communication circuit, the circuit controlling plate arrays, the circuit of display and key. The software design is mainly included by the sampling program of MCU, the judge algorithm of oil-water interface, the design of person-computer communication interface. Finally there are the experiment and analysis of the experiment and experiment data, thereby to verify the liquid level with sub-capacitor sensor in this topic is correct.The characteristic of this paper includes the adoption of the sectional type capacitance sensor, the design of the simple practical capacitance examination circuit, the D-value arithmetic estimating oil-water interface presented, and the adoption of more practical fitted curve to improve precision aiming at the obvious interface layering, and the application that introduced the monitoring technology by computer into crude oil production in the oil field.
