With the development of information industry, digital signal processing developsrapidly in recent years. DSP processor has already been widely used in digitalcommunications, signal processing, radar, electronic warfare, image processing, etc.Under the new situation of the rapid development of the DSP, it requires DSP with ahigher processing speed, more features and more comprehensive, less power and lessmemory usage. The super Harvard architecture processors with multi-channel structureand single instruction multiple data (SIMD), very long instruction word architecture(VLIM), superscalar architecture, super-pipelined, multiprocessing, multithreading andparallel expansion will dominate main position in the high-performance processor. Inthe process of DSP development, its performance assessment is a very important task.Then,more and more inaccurate the traditional measure,such as MIPS.Moreover,oneof the DSP’s characteristics applications is most processing is concentrated in the part ofthe program (core program), so we can evaluation DSP processor with signal processing‘s benchmark.XXX-DSP is a high-performance,low power, with independent intellectual propertyrights embedded multi-core processors. In this paper, assessing the XXX-DSPcomputing performance by verifying the operation of the benchmarking program, thepaper mainly discusses as the following:First, describe the development of the DSP and SIMD technology briefly.Then,make a generallintroduction on the XXX-DSP system architecture generally and analysis its variousfunctional modules of the kernel. Papers focus on the benchmark algorithm forfixed-point simulation, optimization the algorithm by SIMD instruction.Finally, verifyits speed advantage in the board-level verification platform.The paper complete the functional verification through the simulation andcomparative analysis and confirm the acceleration effect of the SIMD architecture,then,make a detail analysis on board-level verification platform.Finally,complete the DSPtest.
