Laser gyroscope(LG) is a widely used high accuracy and sensitive equipment. Asthe core component, the performance of the ring He-Ne laser determines the reliabilityof the LG.. Based on the life characteristics, failure models and failure mechanisms, both work current and frequent start current were selected as acceleration stresses forring He-Ne lasers life test.In practice, the laser gyroscope is generally in intermittent operation. To obtainaccelerated life data and accelerated start data at the same time double-stress accelerateddegradation test was adopted which include switching on process and working process.First of all, Hierarchical Bayesian estimation of specific stress conditions arestructured using decreasing function and zero-failure data process of constant stressaccelerated life test for the Weibull distribution. Then combined with sampleinformation, the estimation of lifetime under different stress is obtained by using theBayesian theorem. At last, the lifetime under normal working condition is calculated. This method combined prior distribution and sample information, obtained the normallife data and normal start data at the same time by using only one specific acceleratedstress level. It is of great significance and practical value. The experimental results show that the ring He-Ne laser has longer lifetime whenunder frequent start operation conditions than that under continuum operationconditions. It is also demonstrated the assumption that the pollution and damage of thereflection mirror is the main reason for failure of ring He-Ne laser. Meanwhile theexperimental results is useful for the further manufacture and improvement of lasergyroscope.
