There may be kinds of passive and active interference in the environment of radar.It is necessary to use effective signal processing techniques for restrain side-lobejamming of radar, because general radar can not cancel the side-lobe active jammingonly relying on the low side-lobe of antenna beam. Now, the adaptive side-lobecancellation (SLC) is the most economic and effective technique to restrain activejamming.Firstly, this paper studies the basic theory of SLC, discusses narrowband andwideband SLC in detail, and gives the engineering computing method of adaptiveweights and criterion for evaluating the performance of SLC algorithm. Secondly, thefactors that may affect the SLC performance are simply studied, such as selecting oflearning samples, target power leaking etc. on the narrow-band condition andmismatch between main and auxiliary channel, product of time delay and bandwidth,and sensitivity of main antenna frequency lobe on the wideband condition. Finally,according to the content above and literatures available, the author design and developan analyzing software used for studying of SLC algorithm and designing of SLCsystem with a summarization of programming techniques by combining Matlab andVC++. This paper gives the testing and validation of the software by simulating andanalyzing some factors which affect the performances of narrow bandwidth and widebandwidth Phased Arrays SLC systems since the Phased Arrays SLC software isaccomplished.
