With the rapid development of communications technology and the popularity ofsmart wireless communication devices, greatly promoted the development of mobileInternet, it is the quality requirements for wireless communications have become moresophisticated, this situation makes the spectrum resources are increasingly strained, theshortage of the wireless spectrum has become a limited application of wirelesscommunication and service, further development of the bottleneck. Traditional wirelesscommunication technology cannot significantly improve the spectrum efficiency, butthe cognitive radio technology is a way to fundamentally improve the spectrumefficiency of the technology. Cognitive radio technology can be perceived by theintelligence spectrum environment, analyzing and identifying available spectrumresources for communication, making the wireless communication system spectralefficiency and system capacity can be effectively improved. At present, more and moreresearch is mainly based on cognitive radio technology, most of them take theirattention at the key technology of theory and simulation. In this paper, based on thesoftware radio platform and the realization of cognitive radio communication system forthe study and practice, the goal is to design a wireless communication system can workindependently without a spectrum license, by efficient use of spectrum resources, theperception and management, spectrum resource utilization.This paper studies the cognitive radio based on GNU Radio and USRP. The firstgiven a brief at the base concept of cognitive radio technology and the research status ofkey technologies; through the application of cognitive radio research, design a specificcognitive radio wireless communication system solutions. This solution as the basis forthe use of USRP and GNU Radio software radio platform for the implementation of thesystem, for the theory of cognitive radio technology provides a real test and verificationplatform.
