The research works are made with scientific projects. The major works can bedivided into two parts: the engineering samples of microstrip conformal to missiletelemetry system are made in the first part, and the simulated analysis of an antennaarray with characteristics of narrow-beam width and low sidelobe is proposed in thesecond part. The main contents can be summarized as follows:Firstly, with the project requirements of conformal antenna,the definition of themissile telemetry system and conformal are illustrated, the research status and thehistory of the conformal antenna array are presented, what’s more, the design methodsof the conformal missile array are discussed. The antennas are simulated by AnsoftHFSS, on the basis of the simulation, the prototype of antennas is fabricated andmeasured. The measured results show that the three designed antennas can obtainfavorable VSWR and omnidirectional radiation characteristics in Azimuth plane.Therefore, it is available for this design method to be applied in engineering.Secondly, according to the technical requirements of antenna, a low sidelobe andnarrow-beam width airborne antenna array is designed with the element of a novelbroadband printed dipole antenna fed by strip line. In order to obtain the characteristicsof narrow-beam width and low sidelobe, the incentive amplitude of the elements areoptimized. then design the feeding network which consisted of multi-level Wilkinsonunequal power divider. Using the software Ansoft HFSS, the array is simulated.According to the simulated results, the VSWR is below1.5over the working frequencyband, the Sidelobe suppression of H plane is greater than20dB,the HPBW is less than14degrees in H plane and more than50degrees in E plane.The results shows that theantenna array performance fulfilled the request.
