The research of this paper based on time synchronization device form thecross-cutting project. The control unit is one of the core modules of timesynchronization device. It has completed the functions of human computer interaction,message processing and remote control.This paper starts from the design of the control unit of time synchronization device.According to the control unit features, we selected S3C2440A as microprocessor of thecontrol unit. Based on the external communication interface of S3C2440A made ofSamsung, we have design the control port and data port connections betweenS3C2440A and external equipment, including the FPGA, LCD, Ethernet MACcontroller and RS-232. We have programmed the port driver and completed theparameter settings and remote control of system. This paper has researched the modeof human computer interaction, and completed concise HCI as keyboard control, LEDand LCD display; messages are transported by the Ethernet and the CRC checkout isused to checking the messages in the transmission to keep the message transport safety,the mode of remote control is completed by Telnet.The software program of time synchronization device designs on Linux operatingsystem. It has implemented the recompiling and porting, platform to building, LCDdisplay, keyboard control, the operation menu control, LED indicator control,parameter setting, message processing, remote control and other functions. In theprogramming we have design the reasonable operating procedures to making the timesynchronization device easy to operation and smoothly to running.Through the functional test of the control system of time synchronization device,we proved that the paper work has been completed the features required for timesynchronization device. The research and the solutions of the key issues could becomea good reference value to the design and implementation of application of similarprojects.
