With the scale enlargement of the network, the network the heterogeneity more and more high, the characteristics of the present computer network is complexities. Usually, the network is composed by several greatly small subnet, network equipments are also from the different manufacturers. How to guarantee the network system can be normal and stable operation, how to enhance the operational efficiency, reduced the operating costs and improving the network service quality are every network operator urgent needs to solve. Therefore, it was need a practical network equipment management, topology structure management and the real-time operation condition monitoring, troubleshooting of comprehensive management platform, to ensure the normal operation network.This thesis topic from the "Switch Management Systems" by shaanxi broadcast&TV networks company yan’an branch. The "switch management systems" manage the network topology and equipment by using the geographic information system (GIS). This paper was expounds the GIS and the necessity of set up network resources management system. Then provided the overall design scheme, design solution and basic functions of network resources management system based on GIS after analysis the communication network industry characteristics and maintenance management of the actual demands.Practice has proved,"Broadcast&TV networks switches management system based on GIS" is a kind of multi-functional comprehensive management system. This system solved the network equipments date entry, update, inquiry, statistics analysis, topology structure, network traffic acquisition and monitoring, equipment monitoring and diagnosis etc. technology problems. It was realized monitor and managed the network equipments state visualization, and then satisfied the operational monitoring need by broadband digital network. The system characters were simplicity of operation, easy to use, and the basic functions to meet the design requirements, so it was practicability and expansibility. At the same time, this system was been beneficial quest and try on network equipments management, for the network management of automation and intelligent provide an effective way.
