In recent years, with unexpected domestic accidents happening frequently, related media reports have become a hot topic in journalism research. This paper selects the "JieFang Daily","Shanghai Morning Post" and " Shanghai Evening Post ", three different types of newspapers of Jiefang Daily Group, as research objects, and makes a quantitative analysis of each newspaper’s reporting framework on Shanghai "11.15" fire accident based on reporting themes, information sources, reporting methods and reporting tones. It is dedicated to discuss what kind of reporting strategies the Party News Group should make, when facing the new media, on unexpected accidents so as to form a rational society’s opinion, to build a stable social order and to create harmonious social atmosphere.This paper is composed of seven chapters. Chapter1is about the research background, purpose, objects and methodology. Chapter2summarized the definition and categories of unexpected accident, and reviews the existing research. Chapter3gives the idea of the basic theories that this paper derives from. Chapter4explains the sampling methods. Chapter5is data description and analysis. Chapter6, as this paper’s key chapter, summarizes the similarities and differences on the reporting framework from the above3newspapers on the topic of Shanghai "11.15" fire accident, the features and demerits of each frame work, and provides suggestions on improvement. Chapter7summarized the different genres on reporting unexpected accidents in the New Media environment, and gives suggestions on how to improve these kinds of reports.
