Optimization design theory based on numerical method develops rapidly in recent years along with its wide application in the field of engineering design. The development of auxiliary tools for optimization modeling, which help engineers to use various optimization design method conveniently in engineering design, is becoming increasingly important. But optimization modeling tools being used now focus on the deversity of optimization design method. When dealing with complex engineering problems with such tools, extensive working experience is still required for engineers. That means these tools are lack of a component to simplify the complex engineering problem and construct optimization models automatically. In the present thesis, a method with more general consideration based on design structure matrix (DSM) for optimization modeling is proposed. Corresponding auxiliary tool for optimization modeling is developed and applied on the platform of Isight to complete an optimal design of supporting structure of gas turbine.The main work of this dissertation includes the following three parts:(1) A versatile method of auxiliary modeling for optimization design is proposed by introducing DSM into the constructing process of optimization modeling. Construction of optimization model and process of optimization design are more conveniently achieved by using the special form of DSM and matrix algorithms for complex engineering problem.(2) Auxiliary tool of optimization modeling which helps engineers constructing optimization model rapidly and correctly is developed by using VBA language. All optimization design modules involved in are automatically mapped to the reasonable optimization flow chart through the interface program developed for Isight.(3) The auxiliary system developed for optimization modeling is used in the optimization modeling of supporting structure of gas turbine with many design modules. Reasonable results are obtained for single-objective optimization of mass of supporting sturcture by using the sequence quadratic programming method and multi-objective optimization of mass and weld area of supporting structure by using the NSGA-Ⅱ method.
