This whole paper is focused on topology optimization of continuum structure, which is the most challenging and difficult, as well as hot research topic in structure optimization. The following three aspects are deeply investigated in this paper: material interpolation scheme for continuum structure, optimization algorithms, the methods to overcome numerical instabilities in calculation.Aimed at the disadvantage of SIMP (Solid Isotropic Material with Penalization) and RAMP (Rational Approximation of Material properties) on penal function, a new penal function is proposed. Based on the new penal function, OC (Optimization Criteria) algorithm are deduced and used for the topology optimization problem of continuum structure. Studying and comparing some conventional methods to eliminate numerical instabilities nowadays. Use a filtering technique to overcome numerical instabilities.A new optimal model based on BESO (Bi-directional Evolution Structure Optimization) is proposed, whose constraint is displacement, and the criteria is energy. By practical numerical examples, the feasibility and effectivenss of the optimal model is verified. It is also applied in the optimization design of antenna structure effectively.
