In today’s China, there are about80000000disabled people live in the US, where about about20000000of hard of hearing people. Physical defects, make them face more difficulties thannormal in the process of acquiring information, coupled with the mass media in the marketmechanism in the commercialization of the inevitable pursuit of profit maximization.Hearing-impaired people accounted for the inferior position in the social resources plays anincreasingly forgotten role in the dissemination of information. The deaf youth media contact anduse as the research object, through interview and questionnaire survey methods, in-depth analysisof the situation of youth media contact, hope from the government, scholars and personages ofvarious circles of society pay more attention to the deaf community.This paper takes Harbin city for hearing handicapped students in deaf schools as theinvestigation object, through questionnaire survey, empirical research method of combiningquantitative and qualitative, understanding of deaf students information needs, the actual effect ofchannel of information access and dissemination of information, to the deaf youth groups withoutobstacles to the use of media suggestions, so the information service institutions, China’sgovernment organs to improve the deaf community care and help people with hearing loss in theinformation society, to solve the dilemma, create an equal participation, sharing, the informationsociety as they.Research results show that, TV, network, mobile phone three media play an important role inthe young people’s study life, both the frequency of contact or contact will come out in front;hearing-impaired youth groups played receivers in the dissemination of information in the processof role, rarely participate in interactive media, the sound of his own voice; hearing-impaired youthmedia contact and contact motive, showing a " entertainment" and " complex ", pursuing pleasantprogram content as well as rich and colorful programs. At the same time, through the investigationdiscovery, in the youth group, generally positive role of the media on society, individual, mediacredibility evaluation of higher.The study also found that deaf adolescents exposed some problems in the process of themedia, and some opinions and suggestions are put forward to solve these problems, expect theyouth groups can better in information society, the use of mass media to help them grow sturdily.
