Temperature is an important parameter in the life. The measurement and control of thetemperature has close relationship with many productive processes and science experiments.It holds an important status especially in industrial production, such as metallurgy, chemicalindustry, petroleum and building materials. With the rapid development of microelectronicsand embedded technology, the temperature control system is becoming more and moreintelligent.As an advanced mechatronical product, electric boiler is the device which can producesteam or hot water by converting electrical energy into heat energy. It is the most idealenvironmental protecting and energy-saving heating equipment for now. On the basis ofresearching the current situation of boiler temperature control domestic and overseas, thispaper focused on the heating boilers of Zhuoli district in Yun City, Shanxi Province. It hasproposed the fuzzy PID temperature control system based on ARM, and designed its hardwareand software.In the aspect of hardware, adopted the ARM9microprocessor S3C2440A as the coreprocessor, the system has designed the temperature detection unit and control unit, andsystematically applied RS232serial port circuit, JATA interface circuit and Ethernet interfacecircuit, in order to facilitate the data download, system debugging and communicationbetween PC. Furthermore, the storage module, power module, and LCD module are also beendesigned.On the side of software, the system has transplanted the Linux operating system, anddeveloped such application programs as temperature detection module, RS232serial portmodule, LCD module and fuzzy PID control algorithm, and completed the migration of thedevice driver. On the system platform, this paper simulated analysis the conventional PID and fuzzyPID control method by using MATLAB tool. It turned out that fuzzy PID control can workeffectively, which has favorable dynamic performance, steady-state performance and stronganti-interference ability.
