As the core industries of the21st century knowledge economy, cartoonincreasingly attracted government attention.In recent years, Chinese government hasrepeatedly instructed to accelerate the development and upgrading of cartoon in orderto enhance the power of our animation. This will mean that market orientation inanimation has become more obvious by the profit. Cartoon audience will contain fullage and adult-oriented contents will increase in animation. In general, theadult-oriented cartoon is not entirely suited to characteristics and needs of Chinesechildren, and some works are even harmful to the health of our children.This article will analyze the adult-oriented cartoon’s negative impact on ourchildren from the communication perspective. In the course of the study, this paperselects several representative adult cartoons to analysis the performance of adultcontents, and summaries the reasons for adult-oriented cartoon. Then, the paperproposes main mechanism on children by adult-oriented cartoon, using thequestionnaire to prove the point in study. Finally, the paper provides methods toprevent negative impact from adult-oriented cartoon on our children. They are theestablishment of film classification system, to improve children’s media literacy, theself-discipline of cartoon creators and disseminators.
