According to today’s network technology toward "high speed" and "wireless" direction development trend,In this paper,based on the WLAN communication as the starting point for research,Android Application Development with a focus on.Designing a handheld wireless local area network communication which includes client and server software.The paper analyzed the Android software architecture and the Android application form,focused on the working mechanism and use of the Activity and Intent components,and as a theoretical basis,using Java as the Language for software development,wi-fi technology as hardware support,rational use of the various components which is provided by Android.achieve the hand-held terminal WLAN communication.Tests show that the WLAN to achieve more economical and secure hand-held terminal communications.The system consists of client software and server software components.And the Client composed by3Activities and1Thread,including connectivity,Socket Communications and auxiliary3function modules.To achieve the login server,exit server,send user status,receive a list of users,transmit/receive communication of information,user name configuration,server IP configuration,hide program interface and display the status bar message and other function.The Server composed by1JFrame and a number of Threads,including connectivity, Socket Communications and auxiliary3function modules. To achieve the start server,stop server,receive user status,send a list of users,transmit/receive communication of information,time display and other function.
