Food security touches on the development of national economy, social stability and strategic issue of national independence. With the year-by-year decreasing of effective cultivated areas, it is of great significance for us to store grains safely and scientifically. Usually, there are various elements that affect safe storage of grain, such as the humidness, temperature, moisture, insect attack, and so on. In order to insure the safety and science of grain storage, many factors that affect the quality of grain storage need analyzing and concluding, avoiding the mildew and bad grains. With the great achievement of science and technology development, developing powerful measurement and control system of grain situation, scientific grain storage is inevitable.This topic roots in the design of the grain situation remote measurement and controlsystem project of Xi’an Daming Palace Grain Depot of the Central Grain Reserve, the system consists of four parts of the upper computer, communication host, communication host and measurement and control extension and remote measurement and control host. Through the communication computer the upper computer can communicate with each control extension in real-time and received the information of grain temperature, humidity, moisture, etc. And then displayed them in the form of diagram, curve and so on in upper computer screen. The measurement and control extension processes the detection data through the microcontroller, meanwhile sents detection data to the communication computer. The remote measurement and control host displays upper computer’s information of grain storage on the site in the form of web page to different places on the computer screens vita the Internet; simultaneously, the user controls grain condition information off-site through the remote measurement and control host. In this procedure, using the ASP.NET programming method, B/S model is established between the remote measurement and control host and upper computer network architecture, after the user logs in account, connections are established through Internet browser and sever, the information of grain situation in remote grain depot will be read by way of accessing the browser, and the commands will be sent to measurement and control extension through webpage, then the information detected by sensor will be delivered to the upper computer.Test results show that using this system can reduce the number of staff members of grain situation, improve the administrative efficiency and make remote sharing of grain situation information come true. What’s more, this system runs steadily, and the information detected by this system can meet the users’requirement. Thus, this system can be applied and disseminated in existing management of grain situation.
