Wireless Sensor Networks is a focus field of the reseach of Wireless SensorNetworks recently, which evaluated as the one of the most important, the mostdevelopmental prospect technology. The Wireless Sensor Networks have profoundinfluence on people’s life. It integrates sensor technology, embedded computationtechniques, distributed information processing technology, storage technology andcommunication technique, etc. Meanwhile, it combines with advanced techniques ofmany interdisciplinary, that have a broad research prospects.Because Sensors usually deploy in abominable environment or the regions whichpeople are hard to reach. and they are droped from an aircraft or thrown by canon.Sothe sensor’s initial deployment are random, for some of the regions, There areexcessive sensors, but at the same time, some regions in the networks have less nodes,even appear coverage cavity, networks performance decrease with the causes.Accordingly, after nodes initial deployment in wireless sensor networks, Thewireless sensor networks’ performance will improve with nodes rational redeployment,as well as their accuracy of data acquisition and connectivity will enhance, theirenergy consumption will continuously reduce. Our main purpose is to study optimaldeployment and coverage of wireless sensor networks, which is how to take advantageof nodes’ optimal deployment to enhance the performance of networks in certainsituation.The main works of this paper are as follows:(1) This paper briefly introduces the characteristic and field of application inwireless sensor networks, meanwhile, minutely analyses the problems aboutdeployment and coverage of wireless sensor networks. Discusses the classification ofwireless sensor networks and evaluation system of deployment performance. Andintroduces in brief some current deployment and coverage algorithms in wirelesssensor networks.(2) According to high complexity of wireless sensor networks deploymentalgorithms, and most alorithms belong to the centralized algorithm which lackofapplication range. This paper advances a precision deployment algorithm based onvirtual force in mobile wireless sensor network(Virtual Force Precise DeploymentAlgorithm,VFPDA), and firstly propose the concept of “relayed node cluster”, with taking advantage of subsistent aggregative nodes in the network, we establish aconnected path from sink node to target node. compare with other similar algorthms,artificial experiment validated the advantages of the VFPDA algorithm in mean traveldistance and less energy overhead in sensors.(3) In the region of barrier coverage in mobile wireless sensor networks, thereare few research in the establishment of barrier coverage, and they have lessattentions to the networks which exist obstacles. In their assumption, sensors couldmove to anywhere in networks freely. This paper advances a1-barrier coveredalgorthm of establishment based on virtual force, which could adapt to thecircumstance that exist obstacles. The algorthm could avoid obstacles effectively andstructure a energy effectively1-barrier covered network.
