The research of Wireless Sensor Networks has become a hot spot, WSNs is a kind of newgeneration of application-oriented network which is paid more and more attention by people. Withthe rapid development of wireless communications and embedded sensors technology, WSNs haverealized the monitor and interaction between people and physical objects. A basic problem aboutWSNs is the network coverage problem. The control of coverage’s quality is usually used as awireless sensor network monitoring response service quality standards, a reasonable nodedeployment strategies and coverage control technology can improve the network quality of service,and extend the network life cycle.Currently, the research of coverage control technology research in the three-dimensional sceneis also a hotspot. This dissertation deeply researches all kinds of literatures about3-d coveragecontrol technology, elaborates the characteristics of wireless sensor networks, introduces the3-dcoverage control technology about wireless sensor networks. It presents the novel node deploymentstrategy and scheduling algorithm in the three-dimensional wireless sensor network. The maincontributions are as follows:(1) The nodes which is deployed in the three-dimensional sensor network mainly solve twoproblems: how many nodes and where the locations of nodes are. It proposes a node deploymentstrategy in three-dimensional sensor network, and the strategy is based on node boundary effectsand space-based truncated octahedron coverage. Two strategies combined with each other can solvethe above two problems, in the three-dimensional scene, the monitoring area can use minimumnumbers of nodes to achieve the coverage effect.(2) This dissertation presents a scheduling algorithm based on virtual force, suitable forunderwater sensor networks coverage optimization. It gives the node redundancy model to ensurethe network coverage and the computation model for minimum numbers of nodes needed by WSNs,through the node redundancy analysis, and this algorithm determines whether the node is aredundant node, meanwhile uses virtual force based scheduling algorithm to schedule the nodes.The algorithm’s purpose is to reduce network energy consumption and prolong the lifetime of thenetwork.
