As a new broadband wireless network infrastructure, wireless MESH network (Wireless Mesh Network, WMN) evolved with the Mobile Ad Hoc networks, and it has the self-organization and self-healing properties.The WMN has a great advantage in a flexible network, improve network coverage and increase network capacity and reduce first investment. It has been attended by the international academic and industry. At present, one of the hot researches is how to carry out voice business on MESH network.The SIP protocol has features of simple and practical, easy to expand. So it becomes a direction development of VOIP.The Mobile SIP is one of the solutions, but the Mobile SIP itself still has many disadvantages, such as the switch slowly, less support agreements, registration delay and so on. How to use the MESH network to improve Mobile SIP is a very significant research project. It is the theme of this paper:Using existing equipment simulation MESH networks and modifying SIP protocol to fit the MESH network environment. The main research works include:1、On the basis of.analyzing the Mobile SIP’s defects, the paper brought out a new method to improve the Mobile SIP under the MESH network. The program can take advantage of the characteristics of MESH network of the Mobile SIP successful in eliminating the defects, an increase of Mobile SIP support for TCP mode, the mobile node after the call switching time reduced and address of the mobile node in the registration status update mechanism on the server.2、In this paper, a MESH network environment has been simulated by network simulation software OPNET and its programming. The improved SIP protocol was simulated and obtained the test results. Test results proved that the improved SIP solution curve is entirely feasible.The paper which used the MESH network characteristics, through modified the Mobile SIP, obtained better performance than the original Mobile SIP protocol.
