Water is the lifeblood of agriculture, and agricultural water-saving is an important component part of the water conservation project. To improve agricultural water utilization and achieve timely irrigation according to need or the amount and to promote the development of modern agriculture and achieve high yield and quality, designed a drip irrigation automatic control and monitoring system for an eco-technology demonstration park, and provided the underlying basis and database resources for the establishment of integrated drip irrigation management and control platform.Based on the introduction of the present situation of modern agricultural irrigation control advancement and the background of this research, analyzed and researched the control requirements of the drip irrigation system, designed drip irrigation automatic control system in which combinations with IPC、Soft PLC control and WinCC human-machine communication、inverter、fieldbus、wireless sensor technology,etc. This article focuses on the design of the system hardware selection, control software and monitoring software design. According to soil conditions, soil moisture information and crop water requirement for irrigation, the central management workstation could make appropriate decision and re-direct the scattered throughout solenoid valves through fieldbus to realize timely and precision irrigation control as needed.The field trials showed that the performance of the system is stable, friendly interface, greatly reducing the human and material resources, and improving labor productivity. Structure and function of the system can easily be extended to meet various applications with the different sizes, demand and cost-sensitive, and so a certain application prospect could be expected.
