With the increasing scarcity of global water resources, the water shortage has become conditioned to the development of the national economy an important factor. The farming and herding regiments of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps (hereafter be shorted as the Corps) were located in the river downstream or the edge of the desert, the drought and water shortage had restricted the development of agricultural production of the Corps. Therefore, for the further development of irrigation, economizing on irrigation water and the agricultural water-saving technology must be vigorously developed. Since the introduction of drip irrigation technology, after years of research and exploration and practice, the Corps has created the micro-irrigation, irrigation, drip irrigation and the other advanced water-saving irrigation technology. In recent years, with the computer technology, communication technology and the rapid development of detection methods and the rise of intelligent control strategies, a growing number of inspection devices and control systems applied to the field of the drip irrigation automatic control system for cotton, the introduction of the control systems are greatly increased to the level of automation in production, played a savings in manpower, water, fertilizer and increase synergy, and laid the foundation for the sustainable development of agriculture, promoted the traditional agriculture to the development of precision agriculture. Referring to the current problems exsist in the drip irrigation link of cotton producing progress of Corps, a kind of drip irrigation control system based on CAN bus was designed. And the interference suppression methods were studied in depth.The hardware system architecture of the drip irrigation control system was determined based on comprehensive consideration of the control scale and the cost. The control core of the control system was industrial control computer and its communication network was based on CAN bus. The working principle of each component, the collocation of peripheral circuit and the software driver was studied separately in detail in this paper. Then the hardware platform was established.The software function of the control system was divided particularly and programmed with modular design. The interactive communication between the CAN interface of the upper computer and the Nodes of the CAN intelligent modules, the data acquisition and processing, the irrigation decision-making and the drive signal output were realized.The source and effect of several typical interferences associated with the system were analyzed. For the important hardware circuits, interference suppression design was made. For the software design, amplitude limit filter, median filter, one order lag filter, arithmetic mean filter were tested. A kind of compound filter algorithm which enhanced the control stability and accuracy was selected based on the analysis of the experiment data and interference suppression effect.
