With the rapid development of science and technology, great changes have taken place in the world’s industry. Now,we are no longer rely on a large number of human to develop industry.Advanced science and technology is playing an important role on the development of industry, especially the virtual reality technology.It has create a new road for industry. Virtual reality technology will enable the industrial design a qualitative leap, more in line with the needs of social development. At present, the development of the automobile industry is very quickly, and a large amount of high-level car-professional talent is needed. It combines the virtual reality technology and the automotive industry together, design a virtual animation of the car and evaluate student’s achievement of the simulation system. This has great significance to the automotive teaching.The paper study the virtual reality technology at home and abroad, combined with the actual situation of the automotive industry, and select the car’s main functional part as the research object. The paper use3ds max software to create models of the various parts of the car, and complete the animated video of the disassembly and assembly of the car. Applied the virtual reality technology to the automotive virtual animation will play a good role to improve the training and learning effect, and increase the motivation to learn. It can reduce the requirements for space, equipment, environment, and has the advantage of saving time, saving human and material resources, and not afraid of the weather.This paper mainly does the following studies:First, this article plan the three-dimensional modeling of the car, use3ds max software to create the main function part of the car, including motor, rear axle, battery, chassis, control system. After establish a model, render the model, and produced disassembly and assembly animations.Then, design the car virtual animation interface by using Visual C++and OpenGL, and show the virtual car models and animations.Finally, establish the evaluation index system for the student’s achievement of the simulation system. This paper determines the evaluation index weight by using the level evaluation method and the variation coefficient method. Using a variety of evaluation methods evaluate the student’s achievement, and analysis the results of these evaluation methods, select appropriate evaluation algorithm at last.
