With the development of the computer simulation, the3D simulation technology has already been widely applied to the industry. According to the request of National Special Superfine Powder Engineering Research Center, this paper develops a3D simulation system which simulates a process of the materials’mixing in assembly line in which the dangerous thing is produced. This system can display vividly the process of mixing. At the same time, it can provide workers who are in NSSPERC with a tool which can find out the best values of the influencing parameters.The paper deeply studies how the double cone blender and OGRE engine works. After that, it completes the force analysis of the materials. And the paper supplies the microscopic ideas of materials-DEM. On the basis of that, it improves the traditional collision detection algorithm. By using the OGRE engine, simulate the process of the materials’mixing. Analyze and determine the influencing parameters in the process of mixing. By inputting the parameters and analyzing the data which is collected in the process, users can find out the best values of the influencing parameter.Firstly, the paper introduces the double cone blender, including characteristics and principal, analyze and determine the influencing parameters. By the force analysis of the materials, deduce the movement laws of the materials which are only under external forces. Secondly, the paper gives an overview of OGRE basic concepts and features. Overall, grasp the architecture of OGRE, and summarize the workflow of animation. Referring to the Actual Situation, put forward a method which detects collision happened among particles by DEM and the improved collision detection algorithm. Thirdly. According to system design, MFC single document framework is set up. After the framework of OGRE scene is set up. it will be embedded in MFC. Import models which are modeled in3ds Max into OGRE scene and render the process of mixing according to the force analysis and the improved algorithm. During rendering, collect the coordinates in which the collisions have happen and observe how the influencing parameters affect the process of mixing to calculate the best value interval. These things are helpful for development of the equipment. Compare the stability of the improved algorithm and the tranditional algorithm and establish a foundation for the3D simulation system of mixing in future.
