With the development of Virtual Reality (VR) and scene simulation technology, the simulation technique has been more and more widely applied to the military affairs filed. The digital simulation system of launch vehicle was proposed. It is composed of scene simulation system, digitial modelling system and high level architecture (HLA) platform.Some technique issues concerned to the scene simulation system of the launch vehicle was discussed and developed in this thesis. In this scene simulation system, the established 3-dimension (3D) model of the objects are imported to scene simulation environment by programming to create a vivid virtual scene. Scene simulation technique can objectively describe the simulation process, realize the flight simulation as well as real time roam of launch vehicle, etc..The theory of scene simulation was introduced first. Then the Object-Oriented Graphics Rendering Engine (OGRE) was studied and the proper style was selected. The methods of the real time and vivid scene creation are discussed in detail based on the engine.Firstly, the creation and rendering theory of 3D model is introduced, as a part of which the technique of substituting texture mapping for polygonal modeling is discussed in detail. Bump Mapping, as an emphasis, is studied to represent the concavo-convex detail of rivets and screws on the surface of first-segment, second-segment, third-segment and cowling of launch vehicle. Secondly, a new method on man-machine control is proposed. The axis-aligned bounding boxes arithmetic (AABB) and Sphere Area Query arithmetic is applied to realize the collision effect of the virtual people in the launch vehicle testing hall. Thirdly, flight fog, flame and extinguishing effect is very important in flight simulation. The particle technology of the OGRE is implemented to obtain the reality. At last the skeleton animation technique is used to realize"walk"effect of virtual people in the scene. These are part of the bases to realize the complete scene simulation system of launch vehicle.
