At present, the most domestic hospitals still use the traditional prescription processing and manual weighing distribution. But this manual method is inefficient and inaccurate. It is not only a waste of human cost of the hospital but also hindered the work efficiency. The automatic pharmacy is a new system, it gets the prescription from the HIS (Hospital Information System) and dispenses automatically by machine through control system. This paper discusses the design and implementation of the upper computer software system of the automatic pharmacy.This paper gets the various needs of the system through the analysis of the data flow. The design of the system is based on the operate mode of the automatic pharmacy. The paper proposes the overall design scheme of the software system, then gives every sub-module of the system and builds the conceptual model of the database.During the stage of the implementation, the major task is to accomplish the module design and implementation, including the communication module, the database module, the function module and the processing of multithread module. The task of the communication module is to implement the communication between different computers and the communication between the computer and the machine. The database module designs the database and builds it in SQL Server, it also does the optimization work. The function module includes interface module, stocking module and control module. The interface module is to receive prescription from HIS and handle it, then sends to control module. The function of stocking module is to deal with the supplement information. The control module is responsible for the main business processes. The system is implemented by C++Builder, the design of the multithread is based on it and it also helps to accomplish the synchronization and communication between threads.The software testing is based on the principle of black box, the result indicates that the system has already achieved the design request. It can not only process the information efficiently, but also complete the tasks efficiently and accurately.
