This dissertation describes the development history of the endoscope system,analyzes the status of the development of domestic and foreign industrial endoscope,and focuses on the introduction of the third-generation industrial video endoscopesystem which is used widely now.In this dissertation, the entire endoscope system is divided into hardwarecomponents and software modules. We research the design for the hardware andsoftware, and give emphasis to investigate of the camera calibration algorithm and thefeature extraction of the natural texture. On this basis of the research, we design amodel of the industrial video endoscope, which has initially realized the measurementfunction of the industrial video endoscope system. The main work and contributionsare summarized as follows:1. The design for the hardware components and software modules of thethird-generation industrial video endoscope system has been proposed,。2. In the part of the hardware components, we focused on the dissuction of theoptical axis system selection, camera lectotype, design of the photosource selection,location of the layout and lectotype principle of the image capture card.3. The calibration method is discussed which is based on the compact cameracalibration method. The camera calibration method for industrial video endoscopesystem is different from the previous photogrammetric system, which uses thecompact camera, with small size, unstable structure. It is necessary to improve theexisting calibration methods considering its easy portability and convenience for use.We compare the results of the two calibration methods, in order to obtain satisfactoryresults of calibration.4. It introducts the knowledge of the natural texture, analyzes the characteristicinformation of the flat textures and three-dimensional texture, and expounds theextraction methods and extraction process of characteristic information. And then wevalidate the effect by programming on the texture extraction.5. We use the system integration to the entire hardware and software modules,and measure the defect information of two typical geometry texture to verify thefunction of the system, and raise a precision evaluation.
