Since the society Progresses and communieation teehnology develoPs， the mobilecommunieations business is developing rapidly.Which totally changed the way both of workand life.In order to inerease the sensitivity of reeeive unit， more and moremobilecommunieation base station are emerging in cities， espeeially in some denselypopulated areas such as residential area，CBD，sehool and even some terrace of high-riseconstmction.As a result of above，the electromagnetic radiation effect has paid more and moreattention by people.It is not only aeeord with dernand of soeiety but also has an importantimpaec to enhance eredit of an enterprise for mobile communication enterprise to Standardizeand systemize the environment protecting work of base station.The mobile communicationbase station radiation efftect need to be analyzed and ealeulated.China has always attached great importance on the issue of electromagnetic radiation. Aseries of technical standards have been issued by State Environmental Protection Bureau andMinistry of Health， Such as 《Regulations for electromagnetic radiation protection》（GB8702-88）and 《Hygienic standard for environmental electromagnetic waves》（GB9175-88）.The standard of Chinese electromagnetic radi ation is more stringent thanEurope and America.This article introduces the development of mobile communication，and gives a briefoverview of the knowledge on eleetromagnetic radiation，on the mobile communieation basestations，and then，analyzes the characteristics of eleetromagnetic wave propagation modelsand a variety Of applieations of these models.In this paper，we make use of the base stationeleetromagnetic radiation predietion and calculation model to caleulate the eleetromagneticradiation around the base station:it gives the way to evaluate and monitor the electromagneticradiation of some typical base station，according to evaluation criteria and monitoringmethods.The results verify the predieted and measured values and Variation in the size of thematch.Finally，aceording to the distribution，Charaeteristics of the base stationelectromagnetic radiation，this paper gives suggestions on construetion and private proteetionof the base station respectively.
