As an essence of traditional Chinese culture, employments of meridian in traditionalChinese medicine have drawn lots of attention and approval recently. However, education ofmeridian only involves things like phantom which is not so convenient to be carried with. It isneither easy for teachers to show how the meridian works vividly, nor easy for students tounderstand its details. In order to cope with such inconvenience, author tries to displaymeridian information with computer visualization.First of all, I do some research about meridians for Traditional Chinese medicine andvisualization multi-media education. I design and implement the meridian visualizationsystem with OpenGL on PC Windows and Android platform.I analysis the requirement of meridians for Traditional Chinese medicine and I describethe functions of the system. It includes modeling display, meridian display, transformationoperation, puncture points searching, puncture information display, and help. Users can selectand display3D dummy human body and meridian, search or operate punctures or information,edit and modify punctures and meridians. Furthermore, I finished the most part of the systemon Android.According to the requirement, users of the system can be divided into two types:professionals and students. I design the system with three modules:3D model data initialingand loading,punctures and meridians data editing and modifying, and3D model meridianvisualization. In the module of3D model data initialing,3DMAX model is loaded into thevisualization system. In the module of punctures data editing, the system provides thefunctions to improve integrity of meridian database by professionals.3D model meridianvisualization module is an important part for the system which includes3D model puncturesand meridians displaying, searching, and so on. Major parts of the system have beensuccessfully transplanted into Android platform in order to meet mobile customer’s requests.It has made a contribution to progress of pervasive computing in traditional Chinese medicineat the same time.At last, fundamental test and performance test have been executed, and the results fitexpectations. It has laid a solid foundation for further research.
