The quality of laser remanufacturing product largely depends on the stability of the powder feeder, so the accurate control system of powder feeding rate is the precondition of realizing laser remanufacturing. According to the demand of laser remanufacturing, the control system was designed based on fluidized bed powder feeder.In order to get the control character of powder feeding, the powder feeder was simulated and analyzed. The powder feeding character and main performance index of was tested by changing the parameters of boiling flow and send powder flow. And the simulation results are consistent with the experiments under the conditions that parameter values of boiling gas flow and powder feeding gas flow changed between1.5L/min to3.5L/min. The results show that boiling gas flow has more significant and it is convenient to powder feeding process control.According to the simulation results, the control system using PIC16F877A MCU was designed. The hardware circuit designed includes SCM control circuit, input/output interface circuit, signal conditioning circuit, LED data display circuit, linear power supply circuit. Then the software part was designed and it mainly includes main program module, the data acquisition module, the data filtering module, data processing module, D/A drive module and display module. Finally, the PID control system was debugging in the field.The control system of powder feeder was validated by experiment. The results show that when the parameter values of powder feeding rate were set between3g/min to30g/min, the experiments results were consistent with those of the simulation. The error of powder feeding rate is less than2.3%. In conclusion, it has a good application value in the field of laser remanufacturing.
