Study On The Media Image Of The Natural Disastrous Reports In China’s Internet Media

In recent yeas, the earth has entered the disaster period, including earthquakes,valcaniceruptions,typhoons,tsunamis…Each disaster has caused huge casualties and property losses,in the face of these disasters, human are very fragile. After these disasters,human urgentlyneed disaster information instinctively, because these information ralate to human’s life andsecurity. Accroding to Will’s Level Figure of Information Needs,human’s basic need forinformation are those about life and security. So the news about disasters will of course be thefocus of all the news in the same period.Because of the keeping development of internet and the feature of high capacity andtimeliness, internet has gradually become the most important way to get disaster informationfor people. China has more than500million internet users, so when disasters happened,internet has become a mirror to reflect these disasters, the size and angle of this mirror willdetermine people’s comprehension and cognition to disasters. Then when this mirror reflectinternal and external disasters,whether it has the same size and angle or not?This paper regarding the internet madia sina as a model, analyzes the differences when itreported “the512Wenchuan Earthquake” and “the227Chile Earthquake”by means ofcontent analysis,discourse analysis and comparation.The study found that,when reporting internal disasters,demostic internet madias will tendto report details about rescues and humanities, and when reporting external disasters, thesemedias will tend to describe the scene of disasters,damages and the panic of victims. Themain reason to this difference is political and social-emotional factors.
