In the information society, it is more and more important to communicate with each other and share the information in the people’s life nowadays. With the development of information technology, in addition to the traditional business such as telephone and fax, more and more applications have penetrated into our daily life, for example SMS,MMS, Fetion, network shopping,mobile TV, mobile phone paying,etc. We can’t image that if the network is in trouble somehow, such as we can’t get through the phone or surf the internet or the cell phone is out of use, that means we can’t get in touch with my families, friends and the relatives, we can’t get the latest news. And the life of the people will be in chaos.Today the safety of the network has become more and more important to our life. As the basic carrier network, the safety of the transport work seems more important to the whole network. The author is experienced in the construction and maintenance of the transport network in China Mobile, and goes through the whole process of the growth of the company’s transport network. The process didn’t run smoothly. With the over rapid development in the early years, Some hidden defects existed in the transport network, and these maybe lead into some damage to the communication. To check these hidden defects and guarantee the running of the equipment, the author concludes the normal hidden defects and gives the solutions. Many creative ideas is present in this thesis.The transport network consists of two parts:transport device and transport line. How to enhance the safety of the network? There are four aspects:1:enhance the safety of the transport line2:enhance the safety of the transport device3:enhance the safety of the transport network4:enhance the safety of service.The followings are brief introduction of the measures we take to enhance the safety. Firstly, as for the transport line, we strictly abide by the principle of double route and even tri-route at core node. Thus, we can avoid single routing out in the key node and also avoid the traffic interruption in this node because of the interruption of the out route And as the transport network keeps enlarging, the interruption of the transport optical cable can be hardly avoided. So how to recover the transport cable rapidly when it is in trouble needs to be deeply discussed. Secondly, as for the transport device, we can sufficiently use the self-curing function of SDH, construct loop network in core layer and assembly layer. As for access layer, trying to decrease the chain structure and the over-long chains will improve the safety of the transport network in a certain degrees. There are some issues to be deeply discussed, such as how to enhance the safety of the transport element? How to access to the electricity? All these need to be researched. On the other side, to the same circle network structure, different ways to arrange the sites in the loop will lead to the different effects to the safety of the work. Is self-curing function will be all purpose? How to ensure the safely running when the cables in two different directions were broken in the same time? How to distribute the service based on the transport network? How to balance the cost and the safety? All these will be discussed in this thesis.As for the layout of the transmit network, how to satisfy the various service in advance properly on the base of network safety still needs to seriously considered. With the development of3G, WLAN and other group subscribers’access service,the need to the bandwidth keeps becoming large. In order to fulfill this need, we must think it over on the layout and distribution of transport network.
