Optical fiber communication system has been always developing to the aim of larger capacity, more distant, more fast speed and more advanced technologically. With the increasing requirement, the transmission rate up from lOGbit/s to40Gbit/s&100Gbit/s even400Gbit/s which makes the problem of dispersion become the most important factor to optical fiber communication system.This paper presents a new solution named "independent external series connection" to build the dispersion compensation module on the basis of theoretical analysis and combined with the actual product design, the paper also illustrates the design structure of the optic device and the algorithm of how to control the multi G-T cavity to "queued" when they get the order.Firstly, this paper analysis the important effect of dispersion compensation in high-speed system especially in the WDM system.Secondly, explain what is dispersion and how to describe dispersion in mathematical formula. Analysis the Impact of the dispersion and list some mainly solutions currently.Thirdly, this paper presents the principle of the single and multi G-T cavity, demonstrates the feasibility of using G-T cavity to compensate dispersion then expound the method using temperature turning to change the multi G-T cavity’s group delay curve and makes the CD turning come true.At last, this paper make a deeply analysis to the design of module structure and describe particularly to the details of manufacture process. After analysis different solutions, this paper presents a new solution and explain why and how to connect the independent16series G-T in the external way, then illustrate all the components’ parameter and function of this dispersion compensation module, and the design process of the control optimization algorithm. And also illustrate the jigs and instruments which used in the experiment. At the end, this paper gets the analysis result and the conclusions from the actual experiment test data and curves.
