The data network layer routing technology has become one of the hot research area in wireless sensor network. According to the characters of wireless sensor network, how to design a energy-efficient routing protocol has become the core topic of the research area in wireless sensor network. The routing level (clustering) protocol has become the main development tendency in wireless sensor network routing technology. The protocol not only has an unparalleled advantage in terms of energy utilization and communication efficiency, but also owns the features of network size scalability and management flexibility. This dissertation mainly researched the clustering routing protocols in wireless sensor network, completed the study of the ad hoc network routing protocol algorithms, the customized network routing protocol algorithms and cluster construction methods and their simulation. The specific work is as follows:(1) The ad hoc network routing protocol algorithms was studied in this dissertation. The EHA clustering algorithm was proposed to improve the HEED protocol. The multi-cluster-head tactics was proposed to solve the problem of multiple networking. The auxiliary cluster head was also proposed to solve the problem of sick clusters.(2) The customized network routing protocol algorithms was studied. ECRC clusters algorithm was suit for wireless sensor network with large range in which there were different communication damping coefficients. So ECF-ECRC was proposed to solve the local necrosis problem in ECRC.(3) The relationship between the survival period and the internal structure of clusters was studied. The principles of single-hop and multi-hop communication models were introduced, and the computation method of the survival period of the single hop communication model was given. The study presented the multi-hop communication model includes regional sharing and energy balance, gave the survival period of the clusters in the two models and the optimized hops calculation method. The performance evaluation of the single-hop and multi-hop communication models was given, and performance comparison between the two multi-hop communication models was completed.
