With the development and application of information technology, various colleges and universities make some reformation in such aspects as the educational environment, educational mode and so on. Since the scale of college enrollment continues to expand, and the popularity of computer is increasing in various fields, computer ability training becomes very important. Therefore, in order to cultivate students’ ability of using computer, many colleges and universities continue to increase the courses related to computer. Now the means of learning computer and the configuration of software and hardware tend to be diverse. Furthermore, the computer equipments update quickly, and the network of computer room and lab is very advanced. All of the characteristics make the size of computer room expand and the difficulty of management and maintenance greatly increase. The original manual and semi-manual management model has been unable to well adapt to the present stage of development. So there is an urgent need to find an efficient, scientific, and intelligent computer room management mode.Because of the improvement of IC card technology and the popularity of its application, IC card management system is applied to computer room management. The system uses control as its core by combining IC card, computer, Internet, database and application systems with other related technology. In this thesis, using the computer room of Jiangxi Yuzhou Science and Technology Institute as the background, we make a thorough analysis on the original room management system, frames a management model suitable to the college computer room. And also we work out a kind of management system characterized by efficiency, integrity and strictness. This system can realize scientific, efficient, informationized, standardized and safe management which can bring about great convenience to students, teachers, computer room administrators, database administrators and other related leaders, can greatly improve the efficiency and quality of work, can maximize the function of the resources of computer room, and can improve the atmosphere of learning and teaching. Therefore, it can bring great economic value and social benefit. The system can not only well solve the problems of computer room management in our school, but also meet the need of just using one card. Each module of the system can run separately, and can also collaborate with campus network or the Internet. It has good openness, extensibility, and can build two or multi-levels of server mode, so that the mechanism of unified management across campus can be implemented.
