Distributed control system (DCS) is used in the production process of automation and control widely, and it plays an important role in the process. DCS system has a wide range of applications and its function is so powerful. Also, different productions and functions will be due to different conditions. It has been the focus of people’s attention about how to DCS system adapt to a specific production, especially the key problems of efficient detection in chemical production of flammable and explosive technology.In this paper, with DCS system as the platform, discusses the Shandong coal chemical company’s new formaldehyde production process. Then according to the actual production, this paper mainly introduces the following aspects:Analysis the importance of DCS system explosion-proof, summarize the function and shortages of existing explosion-proof.Analysis the DCS system explosion-proof function in the actual production, find out the advantages of the formaldehyde production process DCS explosion-proof system, make prepare for the later optimization system.The explosion-proof system will be divided into three types:production control requirements explosion-proof, production testing automatic explosion-proof, production testing manual type. Based on the analysis of the formaldehyde production line and distributed control system of explosion-proof function’s application and characteristics, find out the optimal path.Improve and expand the explosion-proof function of formaldehyde’s DCS system, in the simulation environment system.
