The Constraint Relationship Of Body Measurement Of Parametric Apparel Pattern-making Technology

With the rapid development of computer technology, garment CAD technology made itimpossible that modern clothing industry can come into mass production. And as the livingstandards improved, people were becoming increasingly demanding for the scientificity andpracticality. Thus parametric apparel pattern-making technology emerged. Garment tissues,which were expressed through clothing styles and garment structures, played a role in theclothing design and production. Currently, parametric technology, as one of the importanttechnologies in CAD system, not only plays a key role in Machinery industry, but alsocontributes to clothing industry. Parametric technology has an important effect on garmentquality and industrial competition.The constraint validation technology of apparel parameterization is very important futuredevelopment. This paper proposes a model of examining body measurement based on theparametric constraints, analyzes the necessary parameters of body measurement, and researchesbody feature dimension. The clothing of men and women are regarded as main object to analyzethe differences between men and women. The paper describes the function, principle, algorithmof the garment parameter validation system, which can build measurement parameters files,parameter constraints files and so on. It also provides the data editing function, to add, to delete,to save, to load and the reference of constraints. The validation system dynamically examines therationality and applicability of measurements according to parameter constraints files saved,gives the examining results in the user interface, and finally points out the problems ofmeasurements. The paper takes men and women’s jacks for example, and gives the simulationprocess of parameter validation system by means of constraints.
