| The development of Internet based on satellite has become an important trend as the development of broadband satellite communications in recent years. However, the features of satellite channel such as long relay and high error code rate influence the data transmitting mechanism of TCP/IP protocol and caused severe waste in satellite link bandwidth.In this paper, firstly data transmission mechanism of TCP/IP and the influences of satellite channel to TCP protocol transmission mechanism has been analyzed and Traditional solution which improves transmission performance of TCP/IP protocol is descriped; then on those basis, it is presented the design of satellite protocol gateway and simulation experiments of transmission efficiency on satellite channel for XTP and TCP protocol has conducted; finally, the satellite protocol gateway based on XTP protocol is realized and the test on the application of the gateway is carried out. The result shows that the efficiency of satellite channel can be increased obviously after the acceleration by protocol gateway. |
