FAST (Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope) is the most sensitive and internationally largest spherical radio telescope, that is proposed by Chinese astronomers. It has great scientific significance for deep space exploration, environment research and national security. Researching on the performance of Ethernet-controlled FAST network system is one of the key technologies, before the FAST project implemented, researching on the performance of FAST Ethernet-controlled network system in Miyun model has very good theoretical and practical value not only to industrial control areas, but also to the design and implementation of FAST.The thesis is focused on the performance and topology structure of Ethernet-controlled FAST network system. K-connected topology controlled algorithm is presented first, by analyzing the redundancy and connected probability of different topologies under different scaled networks, this algorithm solves how to link nodes in Ethernet-controlled FAST network system from the perspective of network reliability and costs. Then, according to the specific data transferring of Ethernet-controlled FAST network system, the simulated model including grain size, flow models, topology models and protocol models based on reasonable assumption is designed. Then, form the point of practical application, the performance of different network topologies, different bandwidths and different congestion control mechanisms in FAST Miyun model network is simulated. Besides, the average delay, average throughput and packet loss rate of network in various scenarios are also analyzed. Finally, research on the topology of the entire FAST network including2400nodes and simulating analysis of local performance of FAST-2400nodes is done in this paper.From the perspective of practical applications and theoretical calculations, large amounts of theoretical analysis and simulation experiment are done to do analysis of the overall performance of FAST-131nodes in Miyun model. Base on this, the final topology scheme, bandwidth and congestion control scheme are determined. Simulation result shows that when using pentagon topology,100Mbps bandwidth and TCP/Reno congestion control strategy, the performance of FAST-131nodes network in Miyun model is much better. Because under this circumstance, the average throughput of network is larger, the average delay and lost packet rate of network are smaller, highly transmission efficiency and bandwidth utilization are achieved. The performance of the Ethernet-controlled FAST-2400nodes is better when using heptagon topology and100Mbps bandwidth.
