In this thesis, I analyse the safty monitoring system of current road transport and design a proposal for monitoring car’s terminal based on GPS, GPRS, sensors and embedded technology which are about road transport safty. According to the actual demand for sevel functions, the real time position locked by GPS, the communication with monitoring center through GPRS wireless network, the physical parameter detected by sensors and if the parameter is mismatching the standard value it will give an arlam, and sevel auxiliary functions are all designed and completed. This system is divided into two aspects of hardware and software.In the hardware aspect, OK6410development board of the fly the mellow company is choosed. ARM11processor S3C6410which is developed by Samsung Corporation is used for the systems’s processor. This topic expanded the GPS module, GPRS\GSM module and sensor function module, and designed the power circuit which is used in the system, interface circuit and sensor circuit. I use the software of Altium Designer6to design the schematic and PCB diagrams, and manufacture the circuit board, welding, test and run.In the software aspect, embedded Linux operating system as the platform, graphical user O.interface Qt libraries as the application interface, the graphical user interface and application software are written based on these platform and interface development tools. This aspect is divided into two gradations which are system software on the lower gradation and application software development on the higher gradation. System software programs include Bootloader boot, Linux kernel, root file system of transplantation, establishment of the cross-compilation environment and Qt environment. Application software development includes receiving positioning information from GPS satellites, analysis and display program, GPRS wireless network communication programs, sensor’s detection and alarm programs, phone auxiliary functions program and related interface program, etc.Finally, the design of terminal system is debuged. Summary and analysis is done for the reason of drifting, present a method using everage value of location coordinates to decrease the drifting value, towards to the drifting feature. The two primary factors are GPRS transmission time interval and the size of data packets. I detected the value and analysed the result separately to provide preferred choice transmission scheme data when the system in different data transmission needs. The whole operation system is stable. The function and performance indexes can also achieve the demands bascally.
