Nowadays the automatic extent of metallurgy commercial production gets higher and higher. In Continuous Annealing Line, there are7sections altogether:Preheating Section,Heating Section, Soaking Section, Jet Cooling Section,Roll Cooling Section,Overaging Section and Final Cooling Section. The strip temperatures at each section exit are so important that they will affect the final production quality and performance. Now, more and more factories use the computer automatic control system to control the furnace system which is work in a complex condition. This is because compare with the traditional manual control and some non model and strategy control system, computer system has the the major advantage is to improve the control, in real time and in continuous operation, of the strip treatment process under steady state and transient conditions as well. This article makes a research and design of strip automatic control system, especially for math model and computer application to realize automation. In actual processing, there are different conditions which is including:steady state, change in production specification, change in annealing curve, change in line speed and so on. Parameter set computation and output model are under research. In the course of system realization, automatic control of width, thickness and speed is applied. It communicates them to the line automation system and the digital control system for information and implementation. One of the target of this system is to improved strip quality. The automation system meets the manufacturing objectives in continuous operation for the various products within a preset tolerance range. The second target is to increased production. The automation system reaches the optimum production in continuous operation, i.e. the maximum speed which meets the product quality requirements. Another target is to reduced energy consumption.
