| Nowadays, PCI bus is the most popular bus in the PC areas, which can provide32-bit or64-bit data width. The32-bit data width PCI bus is able to provide at maximum132MB/s data rate. With the development of computer technology, high-speed and high-performance board is in increasing demand. Thus, only PCI-compliant cards can meet future development. However, the ISA bus has already been widely used in many areas. Therefore, it is important to transform the signals from PCI bus to ISA bus.There are many ways for the transform. So, it is more important to find a convenient and effective way. PCI9052following PCI9050is a kind of low-cost PCI bus interface chip produced by the company PLX. It has the characters of high transmission speed, large data handling capacity and protecting users to face directly the complex PCI bus protocol. It can also connect smoothly ISA bus with PCI bus and transplant the original ISA adapter to PCI bus. In this thesis, firstly, the basic principles and technical characteristics of ISA bus and PCI bus are introduced. Then the basic functions and working principle of PCI9502are emphatically analyzed. At last, a practical implementation of ISA to PCI interface card based on PCI9052is presented in terms of hardware design and software driver development. Currently, the interface card has been successfully applied to the teaching of computer interface experiments. |
