With the development of radar technology and the expansion of related areas, radarsignal processing is playing a more and more important role. The implementation ofdigital signal processing based on Field Programmable Gate Array(FPGA) has animportant position in radar signal processing, as its parallel processing features, smallsize and high speed. The entire function of radar signal processing can be implementedby FPGA.In this paper, several kinds of used algorithm are introduced based on a radarproject, with emphasis on the sliding implementation method of MTD filter based onFIR. Combined with the task of radar to complete, frequency domain bandwidthsynthesis method using stepped frequency signal is also studied to get high rangeresolution. The radar can change working-mode as the circumstance varies, to achievethe purpose of distance measuring and high resolution imaging. The radar signalprocessing system is composed of DSP and FPGA. FPGA accomplishes the work oftiming control, Digital Down Converter(DDC), CFAR(Constant False Alarm Rate) andnon-coherent integration. The design method of each FPGA module is analyzed, thefocal point which this paper describes is how FPGA implements CFAR detection, andseveral CFAR are compared. In the filed test, FPGA working normally, the signalprocessing system can realize the expected function.
