| In the design of advanced electronic system, with the number of departmentallevel circuits inside chip increasing, the requiring simulation time is becoming longerand longer. How to improve the speed of simulation without affecting the simulationaccuracy is a major challenge in the high-speed circuit simulation. As a common chipsimulation model, IBIS (I/O Buffer Information Specification) model gets widelysupport of the device manufacturer, user and EDA (Electronic Design Automatic)company because it only describes the external features of device without relation tothe internal structures. Therefore, reseaching the reconstruction of IBIS mode haspractical significance.This article briefly introduces the origin, development and composition of the IBISmodel and the factors that decide the simulation speed and accuracy of IBIS model.Otherwise, it also describes several first-order discrete data fitting theory on this basis.By comparing the final choice of the least squares method, combining the least-squaresmethod and the IBIS model curve fitting the data, the paper proposes a solution andspecific process that can not only keep model simulation accuracy, but also caneffectively improve model simulation speed solutions. Choose proper IBIS model toverify the methods described by this articles. The results of simulation show that themethod adapts to cases which is not reduce the simulation accuracy, and can improve10%simulation speed of IBIS model.At last, the article makes a summary of all the work that has been done in thewhole subject, and makes further prospects of development. |
