The traditional fire alarm system in conventional building uses the wired connection, in which there are problems like long construction period,wiring difficulties, easily ageing and being destroyed, difficult mantaining and high expenditure as well. To solve the above problems, the author presents the application of the emerging ZigBee technology in the fire alarm system and designs a wireless fire alarm system based on ZigBee technology. Complete the following work:This paper firstly introduces the technical characteristics and protocol stack of ZigBee wireless sensor networks and ZigBee protocol stack and the knowledge of the IEEE802.15.4standard, then analyses the feasibility of applying ZigBee technology in wireless fire alarm system,and the emphasis on the characteristics of the CC2430chip and applied to the advantages of wireless sensor networks. Then gives the overall designing and implementation methods of hardware and software of the module in the system have been proposed. The designed scheme of the wireless networks, data acquisition and transmission in fire alarm functionality. The complexity of the design for the structure of buildings, given the simplified network layer communication protocol, so that the whole network communication overhead, the network easy to deploy and maintain.Finally,the whole system has been debugged and tested to verify the functionality of the system.Meanwhile, the scalability of the system in the designed programme is taken into account so that it can be conveniently applied in other areas.
