Design And Implementation Of Several Security And Performance Testing Tool For VPN

With the rapid development of Internet, VPN has been widely used as a kind of technology using public network to provide secure transmission of data services. As there are so many VPN implementation techniques, and types of VPN products are also increasing, faced with a wide range of VPN products, it become focus of the study how to effectively test to assess their performance and safety, so a kind of tool was presented to test the performance and security of VPN equipment.The test tool includes PC control analytical program and slave multi-core test program.In this paper, the traditional VPN device testing model was studied, the characteristics and lacks of test models of traditional VPN equipment were analyzed, and the testing tool model based on multi-core of the VPN device was proposed, combined with advantages of Tile64multi-core parallel running and other characteristics of high-speed network data processing capability among kernels.On the basis of this model, the method of security testing and performance testing of VPN device was studied. The test tool of VPN device based on Tilera multi-core system according to the study of VPN device test model and method was devised.This VPN testing tool can test the security and performance of VPN device. The security testing includes the working mode of encrypting algorithm testing, key management testing and permeating testing. The key performance testing includs throughput testing and TCP number of concurrent connections testing.
