Lizhongjiechao is one of the integrated books which were preserved well, the number which left is the most of all. It named as chao, which contained the cultural and educational policy of earlier tang dynasty’s ruler about emphasizing saints and esteeming Confucianism。This book possesses high value in many areas such as Historical literature history, vocabulary and characters, some time ago, many scholars including Luo Zhenyu, Wang Chongmin, Wang Sanqing and Qu Zhimin had made a series of historical investigation and study. While up to now, no one has discovered the value of this book on the aspect of characters. Many characters using condition were existing in Lizhongjiechao, which reflected the characters using phenomenon of that time. To make a systematical study of the unauthorized characters which concerned in the book has a great significance, such as in the aspects of replenishing the variant form of characters into the voluminous dictionary,distinguishing puzzling and complicated unauthorized characters,supplying the uncollected unauthorized characters. So that this paper just using the unauthorized characters,borrowed pronunciation characters and ineffable characters with many examples and representativenesses as study objections, the paper including five chapters,the detailed study conditions as following:Introduction:Introducing the characteristics and contents of this Dung Huang manuscript integrated book Lizhongjiechao, as well as its inner study value. Proposing the study methods and contents of this paper on the basis of predecessors’ study achievementsChapter one:This chapter mainly introducing the usages of unauthorized characters in Lizhongjiechao, making a definition for the unauthorized characters at first and then classified the unauthorized characters into eight types in this paper, concluding the trait of the unauthorized characters.Chapter two:This chapter mainly introducing the usages of borrowed pronunciation characters in Lizhongjiechao, to depict it from its usages and distributed conditions and the reason of its form. The distinguish feature of this chapter lies in the match relation of borrowed pronunciation characters and original characters.Chapter three:This chapter mainly introducing the usage conditions of ineffable characters, to analyze it from its origins and classification to its ineffable means. Conclusion:To make a conclusion to the accomplishment of this paper.
