The Reasonable Application Of Digital Media Technology In The Museum Display

Recently, digital media technology has been widely applied to museum exhibitions. It enhanced the performance of the display,enriched the visitor experiences and improved the transmission and exchange of information. Meanwhile, in some museums, the digital media technology was being applied neither in a proper way, nor in the reasonable scale, which caused damage to the academic value of the exhibition.The study summerizes the advantages of digital media technology from a lot of exhibition cases, proposes the principles and basic requirements for applying digital media in museums. Taking a multi-functional cinema for instance, the study introduces the planning,designing and installing process. For each different type of digital media project, the study analyzes its display functions/academic sources/design methods/space and technology requirements.
